Dream Door

Hi Crafters :)

Today I want to share with you an altered canvas I made for Mixed media and Art may challenge and Words paintery Design-team-call

When I first saw the moodboard of the challenge my mind got an idea "Dream door"!

How utterly beautiful and inspiring. I really wanted to use a door as my focal and only came up with this turquoise shades colors wax from Prima marketnginc - so unbelievably cool and i made a door with cardstock. I did add some texture to wooden stencil on my cardstock, and cut it as a strips. Then i attached on other cardstock as a door in design, which is my visual representation of this verse.
Background design i choose The crafters workshops stencil designed by our all favorite Mixed media specialist person Gabrielle :-)

I had so much fun creating this canvas with color-wax,
I hope you like it too :)))

Round Canvas Frame

Good evening my friends!
I think Monsoon finally be here! Its going to be 30 degrees today! The hot is going to down in Hyderabad! :-)
Today I am going to share a beautiful Canvas Mixed media frame project with Prima Marketing products.

I started by adhering laces design white cloth, then i apply gesso Randomly with sponge. After that i added thick layer of Prima Art stone on the round edges, then left it to dry completely . Finally i used Prima color blooms: Cotton candy and Antique gold

On the Resin big frame: I just simply drop the Cotton candy color with brush.
Embellishments: I didnt make it as layer, just simply arrange the Prima flowers with Prima chipboards cuts. For Adhering i used Prima Matte gel for permanent. Why because, This big resin frame are little heavy. So use either Prima gel or Prima heavy body gel.

I hope you enjoyed my Mixed Media canvas today!
 Have a wonderful day!

Mixed Media Bird House

Hi Crafty Friends! I hope you are ready for more of inspiration.

Today I'm sharing an altered Bird house, I made using lots of different Creative Embellishments, like metal charms & flowers. This was really fun to create with especially Prima marketing art mediums

Inside of the frame was not heavy with mediums, but heavy with lots of flowers :-)
I have to admit - effects were simply breathtaking: all the different colors, textures and compositions made this bird house totally unforgettable for me. I think i may be tempted to make one more project with Prima art mediums..

Here is Step by Step details
1. When i got this frame, i was confused. How to decorate this bird house. But the Prima marketing mediums gave more confident to go forward

2. I started off by gluing all the metal emblishment pieces onto the outside and inside the frame.

3. I painted everything with two coats of Black gesso

4. When the gesso was dry, i took 3 colors of iridescent Mica powers. And i made the metalic paste by mixing with Modeling paste.
1st Lilac Opal Magic with Modeling paste
2nd Peach Opal Magic with Modeling Paste
3rd Gold Opal Magic with Modeling paste

5. This is the way i made the paste. Very small amount of 3 separate mix. bcoz only we need to touch up with brush

6. After this process i feel i need more color layer required, so i took Acrylic Dark velvet. And i painted only on edges

7. Final layer coloring : Metallique Wax

8. Next part is decorating inside: Why i choose pattern paper inside, bcoz this metal frames are shadow box. And i dont like again dark inside.

9. Only one 12"X12" paper is required for covering inside all sides

10. Prima paper vine flowers are always perfect for decorating roof of this house. And i forget to tell you, i choose gel mediums to fix the metal charms.

Hot glue is problematic though - it chips off! It won't stay permanently on any acrylic, glass, metal or plastic element, especially if there's a lot of water around it! My option is securing my embellishment with the coat of Modeling Paste or gel mediums.
And hot glues are perfect for gluing paper flowers :-)

11. Adding lots of different size paper flowers, like layer

This way my altered frame was fully decorated on the outside inside, and quite pretty I have to admit, even without any photo or item inside... but of course I couldn't resist and for the photos I had to add something inside

12. Final touch were done with colored micro balls and matte finish mode podge.

I hope you've enjoyed the project

Hoop Layout

Good morning, everyone!
Welcome to CraftersCorner blog. Suzna here. I have a beautiful, simple and easy project to share with you today. This Simple altered embroidery hoop to show off your home. I try to altered an embroidery hoop, to be a layout. You know, I’ve always thought it would be cool to work with some of these hoops, but some times I was completely stumped as to what to do with them. But This beautiful paper from Prima marketing solve my problem…Look at my tutorial, what a simple and great way to create a round frame.
They are truly a match made in heaven...and everything you need to start your holiday gifts...or a bit of home this altered embroidery hoop!

Here’s a good look at completed hoop:

Here is the tutorial how I created my embroidery hoop:

The first thing I did was paint the embroidery hoop with Prima Heavy gesso.
Select an embroidery hoop that fits the size of your project and a patterned paper you would like for covering your hoop.

I traced around the outside lightly with a pencil and cut it out. It is a lot easier to do this when the paper is not attached to the hoop.

Then i cut heart shape papers as it for 2 layer, 1st layer from 6X6 paper pad, 2nd layer cut from A4 paper

Collect fussy cut images from pattern paper

Few images from Rose Quartz Ephemera Cardstock Die-Cuts

Then arranging all together ribbon, gem stones, embroidery laces

For more beautiful look add Prima Flowers

Embroidery hoops are perfect for lots of different crafting projects and I’ve seen some adorable ones around the web! I thought I would give it a try with the Prima paper to create a hoop to hang in daughter’s room. The colors in this collection are a perfect match for girly decor!

You can easily create an embroidery hoop for your home, or give them as gifts for family and friends!
